As you are driving on Highway 70 and if you were to sneeze you would pass up and miss Fort Thomas & that would be a tragedy because there's a great little restaurant and store named Megs. As you look at it on the outside you do not think a lot about it because it Blends in with the surroundings but once you go inside Meg's you will truly be impressed it is like you go into another world it is beautiful inside and the food is outstanding. I was amazed at how many different things that caught my attention and I wound up spending an extra 20 minutes after eating looking at all the cool decor inside of Meg's I would definitely recommend this 110% to everybody traveling through going to Safford or globe
I took a little solo day trip and came across Meg's Place. I'm so happy I did. The burger was so good! The fun and friendly atmosphere was just so relaxing, and I even had leftovers to enjoy at home, and for such a great price!! Thank you Meg's for making my day!!
*Updated review* We were moving my daughter home from EAC, and we HAD to stop here. This cafe is nothing you would expect to see and taste on a lonely road in rural Arizona. The inside decor is cozy and clean, and celebrates the local heritage and it's past. The food is something I would expect only to find in a gourmet kitchen (and for at least twice the price). I knew the baked goods are amazing, but I'd never tried anything from the cafe. Just as crazy good! I had the BLT. It's seriously the best one I've ever had. In addition, the fries were perfect and the fry bread was just right. I made the "mistake" of going to the bakery counter alone after lunch. I came back with a bag full of goodies. The cinnamon roll was lights out. Moist, gooey, and smothered in that famous frosting. I also loved the hot chocolate cupcake and the gingerbread (we came just before Christmas). Meg's Place is a national treasure and a must-do for every serious foodie road warrior. I will find a reason to come back. *Jan'22* We got the lemon and the Apple cider cupcakes. The cake is moist and has a subtle flavor. The magic is in the cream cheese frosting. I'd never heard of this PLACE before. But now I wonder why everyone hasn't heard of it. It puts Fort Thomas on the map.
GONE DOWNHILL!! I have been coming to Safford to visit my extended family for years. I was excited when this little diner opened in Ft Thomas a few years ago. It was always fun to stop here for their delicious fried pickles and onion strings. They also use to have really great service, good food and friendly small town faces. The last few times I stopped in with my family the food has really gone downhill. My burger wasn't cooked all the way, thin and tasteless. The whole environment has changed, no longer welcoming. There's a blonde that works the counter that is so unfriendly and acts annoyed when you ask a question. Sorry but I wont be back
Meg’s Place! Next time your headed to Fort Thomas or on your way through you owe it to yourself to stop in at Meg’s Place. This is a Cafe owned by 2 couples from Fort Thomas. I know what your thinking some small town places might not have the same standards as the city when it comes to comfort and cleanliness, well you would be wrong! This place is awesome! Take a look at the photos! The owners make you feel welcome and make some great cafe food and some bakery treats that I am sure you will come back for more. They have a convenience store stocked with all the usual goodies including the large dill pickles in jars. They are installing gas pumps soon so you have a new place to go to when traveling. They named it after Megan who just happens to have Down syndrome. Megan is a sweet young lady that loves to meet new people. Say hello and let them know that Brian and Maria sent you!
